Le Provence is my home in the Verdon.

It is a place I have been shaping for the past ten years around a fairly simple idea: to create a hotel where people genuinely feel good. No unnecessary ceremony, no overly rigid codes, and none of that feeling of staying somewhere interchangeable.

Here, we are right in the heart of the Verdon, in a village surrounded by mountains, hiking trails, spectacular roads and landscapes that make you want to spend the entire day outdoors. Le Provence was designed as a starting point, but also as somewhere to come back to. You set off early to hike, explore the Gorges, go cycling or drive along the scenic viewpoints, and then you return here to slow down. A shower after a long day, some time at the spa, a drink on the terrace, a good dinner, a good night’s sleep… and then you do it all again the next day. For me, it is this succession of simple moments that makes a great stay.

I never wanted Le Provence to become an overly polished or standardised hotel. I like the idea that a place should retain its identity, its personality, even a few imperfections, and above all, its own way of welcoming people. Here, you will meet a young and approachable team who know the region well and will always be happy to share a favourite hike, a good local address or simply an idea for your day. We would always rather have a genuine conversation than give you a rehearsed speech. If you are looking for a restaurant, ask us where we would go ourselves. If you cannot decide between two hikes, come and talk to us. If you are looking for a quiet spot to watch the sunset, we will probably have an idea.

The Verdon makes you want to move, explore and spend your days outdoors. Le Provence is also here to help you slow down. After a day of hiking, there is the jacuzzi, the hammam and the sauna, but there is also the simple pleasure of finding somewhere comfortable and doing absolutely nothing. Some guests come here to cover miles every day; others prefer a late lunch, some time at the spa and no plans at all. Some are discovering the Verdon for the first time, while others return every year.

And that is exactly how it should be.

I wanted Le Provence to be an easy place to live in, where everyone can find their own rhythm. This guide is here for practical information, but it will never replace a conversation. A hike, a good local address, a restaurant, something particular you would like to do, or simply a question: come and see us. We will always be happy to share the things we love about this place.

Le Provence is independent, and that matters a great deal to me. It also means that I am genuinely here. You might find me at reception, behind the bar, in the restaurant, moving a table, recommending a hiking route or simply chatting with guests. That is also what Le Provence is about: a living hotel, where things happen naturally and where everyone puts a little of themselves into the place.

 

For the past ten years, I have continued to develop it in my own way, season after season, always with the same intention: that you should feel good here. Enjoy the Verdon, fill your days with beautiful experiences, take your time, eat well and sleep well. In the end, perhaps holidays do not need to be any more complicated than that.

There is no single right way to stay here. Only your own.
